BETTER HEALTH SERVICES WITH LIVING GOODS.
It has become apparent that we like politicizing everything in this town. We've had so much politics in Isiolo and some of us are yet to see the good deeds done by this government. We are so blinded by hate and some of us are still at verge of electioneering period. I believe We've had issues with the health sector and with the help from the county Executive partnering with living goods and with the support from the office of the governor I believe We'll see change the moment the whole program is put on go. Let's say Isiolo county as a whole has more politics compared to other cities in this country. Governor Kuti has been arraigned with the most recent talks in town but some of us who are well informed know that he's going beyond compare for this county to flourish.
Health services is one of the functions devolved to the county governments following the operalization of the devolution after the 2013 general election. The Constitution of Kenya 2010 has also enshrined provision of health services in the bill of rights article 43(1) which states that every person has the right to the highest attainable standard of health,which includes Rights to health care services, including reproductive health Article 43 (2) that also states, additionally that a person shall not be denied emergency medical treatment.
Isiolo county is among the five top counties in Kenya that contributes to maternal deaths,low immunization rate, neonatal mortality among other health indicators. This is where LIVING GOODS comes in. The county government intends to work with living goods On community health services and implementation aimed at providing targeted technical assistance to support county government. The partner will co-fund to provide capacity building support, strengthen existing community health structures and to oversee success of the project .

Living goods limited is a company registered in Kenya with known physical address. The company is a non profit making organization limited by guarantee. Living goods is operating in Kenya, Uganda and Myanmar. Living Goods is currently Operating in 5 counties in Kenya with different models of engagement. Living goods came to Isiolo at the invitation of the county Executive.The organization is meant to implement the project on strengthening provision of community health services in Isiolo. Merti and Garbatulla sub counties will be held accountable for deliverables of the project.
The county Executive conducted adequate public participation on the proposed engagement in compliance with constitution and legal requirements. (It reached a point where we had to go live in National television. Good work Mr Governor) . The county Executive will allocate adequate resources to fulfill part of their contributions to the project in the supplementary budget .
Mystery has been why has the Chairman health MCA Idd Hassan been silent on this matter yet it affects his docket. Here is the answer, Standing orders from the so approved document between the Joint committee of health services and budget and appropriations And Living goods suggests that one of the longest serving MCA Should chair the committee.
